MODERN DAY ROBIN HOODS: MAY 19th, 2007
Sometimes people fall through the cracks. This was the case with Mr. Labelle. According to the government, some "Little People", are not considered disabled under the law. Their's something terribly wrong when a man like Mr. Labelle who's endured 29 surgeries. Has countless metal pins & plates from his neck to his feet and lives with chronic pain on a daily basis that one could only imagine - is not considered disabled? Trust me when I say, "He's definitely physically challenged. One would think and see that it's obvious he's definitely physically challenged . . . !"
Yvan even had a prescription from his doctor specifically prescribing a scooter - the prescription went on to say/specifically "not a wheel chair" due to his knee condition. He was refused...! When we became aware of his needs; we decided to act. A scooter would provide him with much needed mobility & freedom. So, we made people around us aware of the situation and donations started rolling in. We also organized a golf tournament in his honor. Less than a year later; we had collected the funds needed to purchase a scooter from Sturgeon Builders Supplies situated in Sturgeon Falls, Ont.; who also made a generous donation as well. On behalf of Redway Construction Ltd., we would like to "Thank Everyone" - this includes business associates, family & friends alike.

Update:
In June of this year (2007) we purchased a second scooter; on loan to Mr. Bob Stonham in the Niagara region. If you would like to make a donation and / or contribution towards the next scooter, simply contact:
 By Phone: Mike or Edith at 905 - 734 - 3146 and / or
By Mail: 264 Hellems Avenue, Welland, Ontario L3B 3B7
Attention: O.D.S.P.
Today, the scooter is now loaned to Yvan until he has no further use for it. When the day comes that he can no longer use the scooter; it will be returned to us so we may help others in need. That's how it works folks . . . !

G.D.'s Personal Heartfelt Thank You
I would like to personally thank everyone who participated in making "a wrong into a right". This includes all businesses associates, family & friends who donated and/or contributed to the cause (i.e.: bake sales, etc...). The mobility, the freedom, and above all, the independence that this scooter has provided me is absolutely indispensable. Now I'm able to go to the hospital when needed, or to a doctor or dentist appointment. From being able to run errands like going to the mail or even get some groceries or shopping done - absolute heaven . . . !
In Fact, It's Just What The Doctor Ordered . . . !
